Manchester United remain keen on signing Inter goalkeeper André Onana and they could close in on a move for the Cameroon international next week.
Yesterday, it was reported that United are preparing an offer for the 27-year-old as they see him as a replacement for David de Gea. Contacts with Onana’s agent took place in Manchester a couple of days ago and he was informed that an offer from United will soon arrive.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (via TMW) state today that United have now intensified their interest in Erik ten Hag’s former Ajax goalkeeper and he is the Dutchman’s chosen option for the goalkeeping position. Contacts took place between United and Onana’s agent yesterday as well, with the Red Devils said to be ready to pay €50 million plus bonuses for him and the move can close in next week.
The outlet seem confident that Onana will now leave Inter after just one season, with a move to United looking fairly likely.
