The uncertainty over Kylian Mbappe‘s future is once again a hot topic.
The French striker’s contract with PSG expires in 2024, although he could extend it if he triggers an extension clause because he signed for two years plus an optional one until 2025.
However, that has not happened and the fear in Paris is that he will be a free agent next season.
With Real Madrid once again on the hunt, PSG are prepared to help Kylian Mbappe feel truly comfortable as their main star. Messi’s exit was the first step, and it is likely Neymar will follow him out.
As for Mbappe, an issue is on the horizon that has nothing to do with his contract, or maybe it does, depending on how you look at it. The footballer wants to play in the 2024 Olympic Games, which will be held in Paris.
Depending on Mbappe
The French Football Federation is counting on Mbappe, but there is a big problem.
PSG are not obliged to release their players for the tournament as it is not considered a FIFA-mandated international period.
‘Le Parisien’ reported that both the French Football Federation and Mbappe will have to make a pact with Paris Saint-Germain if he is to be allowed to compete.
Although that will only be if the Bondy-born player is still under contract with them at that juncture.
In any case, it is expected to be a summer without rest for Mbappe, as he will also play in the European Championship with France.
