Milan midfielder Sandro Tonali is set to join Newcastle United and he is undergoing a medical with the Magpies.
Milan are expected to earn over €70 million and potentially as hig has €80 million from the Italian’s sale, as Tonali will sign a six-year deal with Newcastle while essentially tripling his wages.
La Gazzetta dello Sport state that Tonali’s agent and Newcastle United’s head of recruitment Steve Nickson are in Romania and are present at the medical centre of Romanian side CFR Cluj, where they spoke to Tonali and finalised the last few details about the player’s contract.
Tonali is now undergoing a medical at Cluj’s facility, after having left the Italy Under-21s facility at 3pm. Once the medical is complete, he will sign the contract with the Magpies. The completion of the move is only hours away, with Tonali having played the last game as a Milan player yesterday for Italy Under-21s.
